Welcome to Our Chapter's Information Website

This family oriented motorcycle riding club, first organized in 2001 in Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario, is known as Southern Cruisers Riding Club... SCRC for short,  Chapter 270.  It has grown to include the surrounding communities of Elmira, New Hamburg, Wellesley, St. Jacobs and more. We have only a few requirements for our members and that is to join in some events and have the most fun that you have had in a while. The best part is there is no fee.

Chapter 270  holds Tuesday night rides throughout the spring, summer and fall and we have sanctioned rides several times during those months for our members. Throughout the winter months we hold 'Tuesday Night Treat' (TNT) which is a weekly get together of members at a local restaurant.  We also have monthly brunches, dances, haunted hayrides, card nights, barbecues and much more.

Our Chapter stresses safe group riding.  We have initiated Group Riding seminars for new members that ensures we all ride under the same umbrella of safety.

Not only do we love to ride, we also like to give back to our community through various charities such as the Children's Wish Foundation and the Ride for Dad.

Browse our site, check out our Rides and Events page, view our photos, chat on our forum and learn more about safe group riding.     We hope to see you out soon!

Our Mission Statement

Southern Cruisers Riding Club is a recreational, Not For Profit organization, operating with the sole purpose of promoting good, clean and safe riding activities.

Our rules are very simple:

  • No yearly dues

  • You do not have to attend all club meetings

  • No special tasks for you to perform

  • No commitments of any kind

However, we do ask and expect a few things from our members:

  • Always ride safely

  • Don’t give the Club a bad name

  • Be an active member, attend club rides and events and collect your membership card

We just want to ride for the thrill of riding.  Most of our trips will be local, so whether you ride a Honda, Harley, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, etc., you will always be welcomed at the Southern Cruisers Riding Club.

We promote Motorcycle and Public Safety Rules and under NO circumstances will we be involved in any illegal activities
or the consumption of alcohol on any of our SCRC sanctioned rides.

Charities that we are involved in are:+

Ride for Dad
Our club Chapter has been recognized as a significant Community Partner by the Ride for Dad Campaign to Fight Prostate Cancer. It would definitely be beneficial for both our organizations and our community that we join together in this fight. Our chapters rider participation on the day of this event will help the cause that will help thousands. In recognition of our support, we will formally recognize Ride for Dad on our website. We will be honoured to form a group of riders from our chapter and chapters from neighbouring communities that shows a heart felt support for this cause.

Adopt A Road
In 1993 the Region of Waterloo started their Adopt-A-Road Program as a public service program for volunteers to enhance the local litter collection activities by picking litter along Regional road right-of-ways.  It is a way for environmentally conscious citizens, community and civic organizations, private businesses, and industry to contribute to a cleaner and more beautiful road system. Currently there are 70 organizations participating in the Region's Adopt-A-Road Program with over 7000 bags of garbage collected to date.  Under the program, groups or individuals agree to adopt a section of road allowance and keep it clean. In addition to a cleaner environment, the volunteer(s) are recognized by a sign erected by the road authority acknowledging their efforts.

SCRC Chapter 270 has adopted a 2 km section of Nafziger Road, part-way between Wellesley and Baden.  We clean it twice a year, spring and fall.

Children's Wish Foundation
Our donations throughout the years to those children in our community is very dear to us. We feel our children are the foundation of a family. We want to help keep the foundation strong within those families and for the children.  Nothing brings so much joy to ones heart as a smile of happiness from a child.
